Research questions\: what are distant outcomes of operative treatment, does hip efficiency with endoprosthesis change after periprosthetic fracture\? The aim of study was realized basing on material from the Clinic of Traumatic Surgery and Orthopaedics 5th Military Clinical Hospital in Krakow. 68 patients were included to the study, 47 women and 21 men, aged between 54\-71 years. Periprosthetic fracture was diagnosed in 18 after cemented, 15 after uncemented and 35 patients after revision hip replacement. The observation period\: 1\-12 years. Vancouver classification was used for evaluation of type fractures. In women the most type was B3 \(16\), the least A \(3\), in men the most type was B2, \(7\), the least B3, A lack. Verification of outcomes was done by comparison to control group with identical parameters. Wire loops, bridge plate, Weber’s girth were used for internal stabilization after open reduction. Harris rating score criteria were used for evaluation of outcomes. In the study group 6 very good, 17 good, 32 sufficient and 13 insufficient results were obtained. In the control group 19 very good, 19 good, 26 sufficient and 4 insufficient results were obtained. Carried studies out allow formulating following conclusions\: Operative treatment of periprosthetic fractures lead to very good and good results after uncemented and cemented and to sufficient and insufficient results after revision hip arthroplasty. Periprosthetic fractures intensifying efficiency handicap of hip with endoprosthesis, especially revision complicated by B2 and B3 fractures"]
