Unfortunately many cases of OSCC are diagnosed at the late stage what leads to very low survival rate. The aim of the study was to evaluate the usefulness of the direct autofluorescence visualization technique \(VELscope®\) and proinflammatory cytokines \(IL\-1α, IL\-6, IL\-8 and TNF\-α\) in OSCC and OPMD diagnostics. The study proved that VELscope® could be useful in OSCC and OPMD diagnostics. Its sensitivity in identification of OSCC and dysplasia was higher but specificity was lower in comparison with conventional oral examination. The results showed, that VELscope® could be recommended as a screening tool among patients with OSCC history. The salivary level of IL\-1α, IL\-6, IL\-8 and TNF\-α was significantly higher in patients with OSCC in comparison to healthy controls, and IL\-6, IL\-8 and TNF\-α also in comparison with patients with OPMD without dysplasia."]
