Search for: [Abstract = "Lifestyle has been recognized as a key factor in the physical and mental health, which is at the same time possible to change. Entering the menopausal and postmenopausal period by women is associated with many negative metabolic changes as well as with tissue atrophy, which both increase the risk of many diseases. Healthy lifestyle limits these threats and extends life. The aim of the following doctoral thesis is to assess the lifestyle, health self\-esteem and socio\-economic conditions of women living in Cracow, as well as to investigate the relationship between this factors, personal sense of effectiveness and location of control of one's health.The research method was a diagnostic survey. The following research tools were used\: Healthy Lifestyle questionnaire, the Nottingham Health Profile, the Multi\-Dimensional Scale of Health Control Location, the General Self\-Efficacy Scale. Survey was conducted among randomly selected residents of Cracow, aged over 45. The surveys of 453 respondents were qualified for the analysis. It is alarming that healthy lifestyle is not very popular among women in Cracow \(only 9.5% of them lead a healthy lifestyle\). The conducted research showed that women with higher education and better material status are more likely to lead to a healthy lifestyle.
