Patient’s safety and comfort are important aspects of the examination. This work includes publications concerning the application of selected methods of bronchofiberoscopy and factors that influence satisfaction and safety in patient undergoing the procedure with analgosedation.Aim of the study. The aim of the series of publications were\: analysis of the effectiveness of selected bronchoscopic methods used in diagnosis and treatment of lung disease, evaluation of factors that influence the level of anxiety and patient’s comfort\; analysis of complications frequency and the safety of anaesthesia used by non\-anaesthesiologists.Methods. The study included patients of the Department of Pulmonology, Allergy and Clinical Immunology University Hospital in Krakow, who had undergone bronchofiberoscopies. Both retrospective analysis of available medical documentation, and prospective, observational trial without a control group were used. Results and conclusions. The localisation and size of the lesion had an impact on the effectiveness of endoscopic method in patients suspected for lung carcinoma. Various patient’s knowledge about bronchoscopy and their anxiety level depend on whether patients are undergoing the procedure for the first time or had undergone the procedure in the past. Analgosedation during bronchoscopy is relatively safe and complications are reversible if the procedure is performed in proper conditions by experienced personnel."]
