In the second part of the study we evaluated GPER expression in melanomas and margin tissue in men and women of different hormonal status. We have shown the presence of significant differences in estrogen β expressionin margin melanocytes between common and dysplastic nevi. Keratinocytes of melanomas and dysplastic nevi differed in estrogen receptor β expression. We did not show significant differences in estrogen α and β in relation to known prognostic factors in melanoma. Significant differences were found in estrogen β and GPER expression between margin and melanoma melanocytes. Melanocytes of melanomas and dysplastic nevi differed in GPER expression. There was a positive correlation between nuclear and cytoplasmic GPER expression in melanoma melanocytes and Clark and Breslow scales. There were differences in GPER expression in melanocytes concerning the presence of ulceration, mitotic figures and growth phase."]
