Apoptosis is a multi\-step process resulting in cell death and induction of two major apoptotic pathways result in activation of DFF40\/DFF45 complex. DFF \- DNA Fragmentation factor \- complex exists in cell nucleus as a dimer composed of DFF40 and DFF45. DFF45 acts as a substrate for caspase\-3 and its after cleavage active form of DFF40 is released proceeding with DNA fragmentation. The aim of the study was to evaluate DFF45 molecule as a last factor in apoptosis chain and to present DFF45 role in pathogenesis of endometriosis. 88 women who underwent standard surgery procedures were included to the study. Endometriosis was diagnosed in 26 patients and 62 women were operated for benign gynaecological problems. Pregnant women and patients with neoplastic disease were excluded from the study. Immunohistochemical analysis was performed on 50 random chosen paraffin\-embedded tissues. than Western\-blot analysis was performed on 127 tissue species for evaluation of the DFF45 expression. All calculations were made using Statistica v. 7.0 software and p<0.05 was considered to be statistically significant. DFF45 expression was confirmed in all tissue samples. In endometriosis expre"]
