The other aim of this study was the attempt to clarify mechanism of their potential central activity, especially for ADN\-2013. Aripiprazole was used as a reference atypical antipsychotic drug.In pharmacological studies in vitro, monoaminergic receptor binding profile and functional activity have been determined toward receptors D2, D3, 5\-HT1A, 5\-HT2A, 5\-HT6, 5\-HT7, α1, M and other binding sites e.g. SERT, hERG. In order to verify potential antipsychotic and cataleptogenic activity– the locomotor hyperactivity induced by D\-amphetamine and MK\-801 and the bar test, respectively, in mice, antidepressant activity – the forced swim test in mice and rats and the tail suspension test in mice, anxiolytic activity– the four\-plate and marble burying tests in mice as well as the conflict drinking Vogel and the elevated plus\-maze tests in rats were performed. Moreover, a mutagenic activity in vitro and an anorectic effect in vivo have been studied for ADN\-2013. The specificity of each effect has been confirmed by appropriate control tests. The results of pharmacological studies presented confirm the desirability of searching for compounds with a multi\-receptor profile of activity. ADN\-2013 has been selected as a lead structure for further research focusing on the search for more effective and safer drugs that can be used in therapy of behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia."]
