Systemic changes in the population structure of Polish and other European countries have caused increasing demand for ensuring comprehensive medical care for the elderly people. Aim. This study aims to assess the degree of satisfaction of the elderly with the nursing care they receive in their home environment and to determine the relationship between that level of satisfaction and various dimensions of their quality of life. An additional aim was to identify the determinants of satisfaction with nursing care in a group of the elderly people. Materials and methods. The study included 122 people aged 75 years and older, receiving nursing care at their place of residence during the last six months\; 43 people carne from Krakow and 79 from Nowy Sacz. Results. The results show a relatively high degree of satisfaction among the elderly respondents with the nursing care they received. The study also confirms that there is a relationship between the level of satisfaction with in\-house nursing care among the elderly and their quality of life. The results for professional nursing skills are also correlated with the overall assessment of the quality of life measured by this questionnaire.
