Methods\: 75 patients were enrolled into the study\: 25 patients with cardiac syndrome X \(group X\)\; 25 patients with coronary artery disease CCS I\-II with stenosis of coronary arteries exceeding 50% \(group W\)\; 25 controls without angina and with negative exercise test \(group Z\). All individuals underwent\: history and physical examination\; electrocardiogram\; laboratory tests\; exercise test\; blood and plasma viscosity\; capillaroscopy and capillary flow measurement. In patients from group X myocardial perfusion scintigraphy was performed. Results\: The capillaries with narrow arms were observed significantly more often in patients from groups X and W when compared with controls from group Z. Nailfold capillary density did not differ significantly between all patients. Blood and plasma viscosity was significantly higher in patients from groups X and W when compared with controls from group Z. Plasma viscosity was significantly higher in patients with cardiac syndrome X and class III CCS when compared with patients from group X and CCS class I or II.
