Search for: [Abstract = "Aim of the study\: The aim of the study is to make the public aware of the degree of pollution, its sources and to present the dependence of the disease on the individual components of smog and the season. The influence on adults and seniors in particular age groups is also presented. The influence of particulate matter, PM10 and PM2.5 fractions on human organism was investigated, more precisely on exacerbation of ischemic heart disease, arterial hypertension, heart failure and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease \(COPD\) and bronchial asthma, as well as on the occurrence of infections of the respiratory tract, heart rhythm disorders and ischemic stroke. Material and method\: On the basis of the presented research objective, the main research problem was formulated\: how the increased concentrations of two fractions of particulate matter\: PM10 and PM2,5 affect the course of cardiovascular and respiratory diseases after 7 days of exposure to polluted air. The research was carried out in the city of Kraków. Taking into account the regionalisation of the University Hospital, the study covered a significant part of the city and the localities near Kraków.
