The mean age was 50 years. Diabetes type 1 was diagnosed in 25.7% of the respondents, while diabetes type 2 \- in 74.3 % of the patients. The following methods were used\: the Questionnaire designed by author, Antonovsky’s Sense of Coherence Questionnaire \(SOC\-29\), Spielberger’s State\-Trait Anxiety Inventory \(STAI\), Beck’s Depression Scale, KS\-40 Questionnaire, WHOQOL Questionnaire \- abreviated version. The survey confirmed the thesis, according to which, the majority of patients with diabetes do not sufficiently follow doctors’ recommendations, in particular those involving a diet and physical activity. However, relatively good results were shown in the scope of health control in the surveyed population. It was stated that factors taken into consideration in the research differently affect various forms of health\-related behaviour patterns. What is more, these interrelations were modified by the type of diabetes. It was shown that psychological factors influence the quality of life of diabetics more than their health\-related behaviour. The feeling of coherence, which favourably affected almost all surveyed spheres of life quality, turned out to be the most significant for the quality of life of the diabetics."]
