The examined group consisted 177 pregnant women, who underwent cardiotocogaphic test just before the labour. The tests were preformed in Saint Anna Hospital in Miechów from January 1 st 2001 till May 31 st 2004. Values of digital recordings were analysed on the basis of criteria defined by FIGO in 1987 typical for classical cardiotocography, and the criteria described by Dawes G. and Redman C. including variability of Fetal Heart Rate. The comparison showed that the analysis of digital recordings according to the criteria defined by Dawes and Redman possesses higher predictive values\: • sensitivity \- value higher by 21, 1 %, • specification\- value higher by 41,2%, • positive predictive value \- value higher by 44,3%, • negative predictive value \- value higher by 6,8%. The following conclusions were drawn on the basie of examinations\: 1. In comparison to the classical cardiotocography, digital analysis of cardiotocographic recording is characterised by higher predictive value. 2. The method described by Dawes and Redman 1s more advantageous alternative of assessing digital cardiotocographic parameters when compared to the criteria defined by FIGO. 3. The informat"]
